Year 6
Welcome to Year 6
Year 6 is an extremely exciting and important year for every child. Our main focus is to equip them with all the tools they need for the next step in their journey: secondary school.
We aim for each of our children to become more independent and resilient in their final year of school and to be able to tackle the many challenges that Year 6 brings: whole school responsibilities, SATs, Our Year 6 Residential and our Year 6 Production to name but a few.
Children work collaboratively with their peers and know to ask for help when required. This approach enables children to grow in confidence in their own ability drawing on their own skills and knowledge.
Together we aim to live out our school mission statement “Growing together in love and learning”. Woven throughout our curriculum, there are many opportunities for our children to develop the St Clement’s Learning Values.
- Be kind
- Be ready
- Be our best
- Be truthful and
- Be respectful
We believe these values are essential skills which will enable our children to thrive in the future and, most of all, we ensure greater happiness.

Life to the Full
TenTen Life to the Full is a programme in Relationship and Health Education for Catholic primary schools throughout the UK, based on the structure of 'A Model Catholic RSE Curriculum' by the Catholic Education Service.
Module 1: Created and Loved by God
UKS2 Module One: Created and Loved by God explores the individual. Rooted in the teaching that we are made in the image and likeness of God, it helps children to develop an understanding of the importance of valuing themselves as the basis for personal relationships.
Module 2: Created to Love Others
UKS2 Module Two: Created to Love Others explores the individual’s relationship with others. Building on the understanding that we have been created out of love and for love, this module explores how we take this calling into our family, friendships and relationships, and teaches strategies for developing healthy relationships and keeping safe both online and in our daily lives.
Module 3: Created to Live in Community
UKS2 Module Three: Created to Live in Community explores the individual’s relationship with the wider world. Here we explore how human beings are relational by nature and are called to love others in the wider community through service, through dialogue and through working for the Common Good. In Life to the Full Plus, learning on money and careers is concluded, using previous learning from the module to understand God’s call to live generously.
Parents do not have the right to withdraw their children from content that is included in the national curriculum for Science.
